I thought it was pretty funny and interesting:

Go down to January 22, it's about 8 minutes long but pretty good. ;)

btw - TiVo is mentioned quite a lot.

Not sure if I beleive the hype about Moxie-- the featureset seems too good to be true. However, if they do make it happen, it will represent the first truly viable competitor to the TiVo. Again, though, I think it is too good to be true.

The thing with Moxi is that it is more a "feature set" than an actual all in one product. From the way I have understood it all, a service provider (cable or sat) can choose which of the features to implement in their boxes (if they choose Moxi at all) - I seriously doubt we'll see any major roll outs of Moxi based STBs that contain all of the "pie in the sky" features they are touting. I think in the end, it will simply be too expensive, and too confusing for the average cable/sat subscriber, and a more basic version (PVR features plus a few more) will get the nod. TiVo could just as well snag these deals instead of Moxi, since they have a proven product and established brand recognition...

It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Wow. Never thought I'd agree with Phillip Swann. Like he says, everyone is working towards an integrated solution, Moxi is not the end-all be-all of this type of thing. It's going to be a competition in the market, like everything else.

moxi,moxi,moxi......

woop dee do......

the audio player/dvd playback functions are cool, but nowhere near "cool" enough to justify the purchase. (i'm not a fan of the "all in one" idea)

for all the hype, moxi is just another pvr. it's got alot of good bells and whistles (mp3's & dvd's), but as far as the tv side of it goes, it's just a programmable digital recorder.

the tv side of it is my main concern.

if your favorite show moves from monday to wednesday night, will it know?

can you tell moxi to keep an eye out for your favorite movie and know when it finds it, record it?

does moxi care that you like John Wayne movies?

can you tell moxi to record things you might like?

is moxie a good old tv buddy?
or is moxi a just another brain dead pvr?
