I finally convinced a friend to buy a Tivo unit and he called me to say nobody has them in stock! Not believing this to be true, I checked online and Holy Cow it's twue it's twue! Sony stopped making the SVR 2000 and you can't find a 30 Hr Philips either! Help, I need to find a 30 Hr Sony or Philips stand alone (he has cable) and why are they discontinuing them? Any advise...

Get the AT&T Series 2, available through a link on TiVo's web site.

Also, keep an eye on CircuitCity.com. Last week(however today, they are sold out again), they had standalone 30 hr Philips units avaliable for direct ship again. This seems to occur about every 2 weeks.

get the AT&T TiVo at http://attbroadband.tivo.com

It's only $299 for 40 hours and it works with everything, not just AT&T.

It's a good deal and it's the new TiVo model. Series II.

We've got a ton of Philips Standalone TiVos, which we got straight from Philips.

The new Tivo with 40 hours is a much better deal at $299 than a refurbished 14 hour for $199.

I -wish- I could find an open-box 14hour or 20hour around here...no one seems to even carry TiVo anymore in my area.

Orbit Satelite has (or had) some Tivo HDR112 refurbished for $149.95.

I told my friend about the AT&T units. Thanks

We agree that the $199 price can be beaten, but our already-upgraded models offer an unbeatable deal for those who don't want to wade through the Underground to upgrade on their own. Our service is mostly geared toward people who are looking for the biggest bang for the buck in terms of hours.
