Difference in recording times on Hughes DTivos

I've upgraded three Hughes DTivos in the last couple of weeks and noticed something a little weird. The first one I upgraded shows it's new capacity as up to 88 hours, but the second and third one showed up to 86 hours. All were the same hd size, type and manufacturer (maxtor 5400 60gb) and all were the latest version of tivo software. Any ideas on this or is this fluctuation seen normally? BTW, I did try searching and came up with zip.

okay, so I just upped my Philips dsr6k with the same hd, etc. and it is up to 86 hours like the other two hughes' dtivos. Just out of curiosity, anybody have any ideas as to why my first hughes shows up as up to 88 hours.
