TiVo Ads in Print

We all have opinions on how successful or unsuccessful TiVo television commercials have been at promoting its product. Why doesn't TiVo give magazine and newpaper ads a try. They are significantly less expensive and you have a captive reading audience who can fully grasp TiVo's advantages.
TiVo's target audience seems to be mostly young and male, so why not place a few spreads in Maxim and GQ?
Here's a few ideas:
"For less than what you're paying for your popcorn, We can really pop up your television experience."
Downplay the monthly service fee as cheap.
"You have nothing to lose except the commercials.
The TiVo 30-day money back guarantee.
(And for all those going off the college this fall...we know all those night classes will cause you to miss your favorite shows)
"The best gift for the graduate since Mrs. Robinson."
3 free months with 1 year up front payment.
Feedback please...

I like this one. It would make a great commercial, too!

Huh? The one-year $100 subscription option was dropped, wasn't it?
How about "Subscribe to your Freshman and Sophmore years in advance and get all the rest free." Well, 25.12 months, anyway.

Actually, considering some recent board demographics, they should also place print ads in the Advocate and Out Magazine.

They should also run print ads in Soap Opera Digest and Oprah magazine and those magazines that are geared to daytime televison viewers.
People who tape soap operas every day can benefit immensely from TiVo....

I've seen TiVo magazine ads, although not in the past couple of months. Sports Illustrated, definitely, and I think also Entertainment Weekly.
(I wonder if TV Guide would take TiVo ads? :D )
