TIvo does not show increased recording time

I just upgraded my Sony Tivo from 30gig Quantum Drive to 60 gig Western Digital A drive. I also blessed a 100 gig Western Digital as a B drive. Total Recording time still shows the original amount after re booting Tivo system. What up? Do I worry or just record away? I have Software version 2.5. I am concerned can, some one answer my question.
I am confused: I used the Hinsdale how to guide. It did report the 100 gig drive size correctly and recognized that a B dive was present.

I may be over my head!

What exactly did you do? Did you run Tivomad to expand the A drive and Bless the B drive?

Yes

I ran Tivomad to expand the new A 60 gig drive. Then the next day I bought a 100gig and I ran Tivomad to Bless the new B 100 gig drive using hinsdale-how-to instructions. I used these instructions. Upgrade configuration #2 New A drive with the new B drive. It reported the correct size of my 100gig blessed drive give or take couple of gigs.

What I am referring to is the fact that Tivo reports my recording capacity as the same as before the upgrade. I read that it is normal for that to happen but doesn't Tivo delete programs because it thinks it out of room?

Is that false report stictly an administrative feature that has nothing to do with how long programs are saved or the ultimate recording capacity?

Hinsdale said
"If you check your system information screen, do not expect the TiVo to recognize the full capacity of the drive. You will find that your recording capacity is identical to the recording capacity of your original TiVo A drive (or A+B drive in true dual drive units). This is normal."

Hinsdale instructions were great. I attempted to use a 80gig Seagate as my A drive four times and it never worked. I then used the 60gig as my A drive. I ended up returning the 80 Seagate.

I think the problem is you expanded the A drive one day and ran the TiVo with it and then added the new drive on the second day. I believe you have to do all the expanding/adding at the same time. From page 2 of Hindsdale's how-to:

"Remember that once you boot an expanded A drive or expanded A+B drive in your TiVo, you will need to restore from backup, or create a new Mfs Tools backup and restore it, in order to further upgrade recording capacity."

If you restore your backup to the A drive and Bless the B drive in the same operation, you should get things running properly (Hinsdale steps 8, 9, and 10 (Upgrade Configuration 2, I think)).

Replaced DirecTivo unit only shows 35 Hours
I replaced the Quantum40GB with the WD100GB Drive. It works properly but still only shows 35 Hours of recording time.

Any ideas?

The instructions on blessing the drive come after the instructions on testing the expanded drive, so I don't think this is so.

Check to make sure the IDE and power cables on your 100GB drive are plugged in correctly. It sounds like the TiVo doesn't see the B drive.
