Questions about maximum drive storage.

I just have a quick question about the biggest drive to be utilized in a stand alone SVR-2000 Sony Tivo system. I read on Hinsdale's "How-to" that the biggest the linux kernel would support is a 137GB drive. Is this still true?

Reason I am asking, is I see dual 160GB upgrades everywhere online. I am about to buy the drives for the upgrade and if it's possible to run the 160's without a waste I would prefer to do so...But, then again, if it would be a waste I would just go with 120's.

Thanks in advance,

137 is the max and its because of the ide hardware not the linux kernal.

You do get another 17 out of the 160's that you wouldnt get on a 120. My thought is use the 160's just because i dont ever want to wish i had more space in there. I'd hate to be kicking myself down the road because i decided i need those extra 17 for something.

BUT it is a big incremental cost from 120 to 160 in price, so if moneys an issue that's a whole different story.
