My brother, the PC whiz, agreed to help me. I supplied him with Hinsdale's great directions and we agreed to try it tonight (Friday).
We used the boot floppy method and things were going well until the A-drive backup failed - he had, unknowingly, only 160 meg left on the C partition and the backup stopped at 96% :mad: :(
We re-started with another, older PC (P166 :o ). The backup was much slower but eventually finished :cool:
Then we began copying the image to the new 80 gig for testing. Again, the PC's limitations slowed things a bit, but all was well - until the copying process failed :( :mad:
Now we were nearly 3 hours in and were pissed (at ourselves and the POS 166 we were using) and did not want to re-start the copying process again. I took a leap of faith that the original drive image on the PC drive was good (for warranty backup) and that my new drive was good (had reported correct size all night) so we said "screw it - TivoMad it already" and away we went :eek:
TivoMad seemed to work, so we hooked the drives up and crossed our fingers...
...and lo and behold, 106 hours ! :) :D
Thank you, Hinsdale, for instructions even WE can follow !
Now to wait until mid-April for the 90 days to be up on my SAT-T60.
Maybe I'll even have my rebate on it by then :p

Congratulations! Now, maybe you should help your brother do a bit of clean-up on his computer. The whiz with a measly 160Meg on his C: partition needs your help. :)
