Standalone 2.5.1 wishlist bug?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I recently sold my Sony SVR2000 to a friend and got a Philips DSR6000 DirecTiVo for myself... Just yesterday I was chatting to my friend and he said he'd spotted a bug in the wishlist functionality: He set up a Title Wishlist for Nash Bridges and selects View Upcoming; this shows a number of episodes on channel 5 (we're both in the SF Bay Area); however, he knows that the show also airs on channel 20 and is wondering why it doesn't show up.

I'd never seen this problem myself and assumed that channel 20 wasn't selected in his 'Channels You Receive' list. in fact I was so sure this was the case I bet him 10 bucks... Tuns out I was wrong :( I went over to his place and checked it out. Sure enough, Live Guide and channel search both show Nash Bridges episodes on channel 20, but the wishlist doesn't...

Has anyone seen this before? I tried a search but didn't find anything similar...

This is not really a bug, but more of a design choice. When you view upcoming programs from the wishlist, it just has one listing for each individual episode. If you go into one of the episodes, you can then choose to view upcoming episodes, which would show you all the showing times for the show (not just that episode). It was designed this way to keep the 1st list from being too large (you can look at it and see how many different episodes are on at a glance).

The one feature I wish I could turn off. This annoys me more than anything. However, once you train yourself to know what you are seeing is one of each - it is not so bad.

I can see how this feature is liked by people - but for me - its just a pain in the ass.

This feature sometimes annoys me too. I had thought I was trained to know that what I was seeing was one instance of each episode, but I still forget from time to time. In one case it took me a day to realize I hadn't seen the whole list.

Channel 20?

When you post problems like this, it's a heck of a lot more clear if you refer to the channels you are talking about by callsign (KPIX, USA) rather than the channel number alone, since all the different cable providers around the Bay Area have stations on different channels. Heck, my cable system moves KVIE in Sacramento so often, I have to look on my TiVo to find out which channel it's on this month.
;)

If you say "Channel 20" to me, I still think "TV-20" or broadcast channel 20 (now KBWB) which is cable channel 13 on most systems. KBWB has not run Nash Bridges since I started watching it (in the middle of season 4 of the original broadcast run).

My Actor Wishlist for Jeff Perry (set up in case something comes on which isn't Nash Bridges) shows the daily syndicated run on USA channel (Channel 42 on my side of the bay) and the episodes on KPIX (Channel 5).

I just created a Title Wishlist for Nash Bridges as a test case and got the same 15 upcoming episodes.

However, I also have Nash Bridges in my TiVo suggestions list, and it shows 16 episodes, because it lists both showings of "Gun Play" on KPIX, the 9 PM showing on 3/16 and the 1 am showing on 3/18.

In all cases, both channels are in the upcoming episodes list, so I don't know what was going on with your friend's TiVo. Unless --

Could it be that your friend looked after he had JUST set up the TiVo, had selected a new lineup, and all the guide data hadn't finished indexing yet?
