"Welcome. Powering Up" Stuck on original drive

I've got a At&Tivo and it was working fine. I decided to upgrade it with a maxtor 120 gig. Did noswap. backed up the drive. Received no errors. Restored the backup using noswap and the 1.1 utils to the 120 gig and put it in the tivo. It gets past "almost there" but then goes to a blank screen.

So since my shows were coming up fast i decided to put my original drive back in the tivo and work on it later. Suddenly it's stuck on "welcome. powering up" I've tried all the various jumper settings i can get for this drive. Nothing works. I'm starting to NOT be happy.

Any suggestions? A friend mentioned that some people have copies of the various drive images. If i need to I'll grab one of those but i'd rather not have to. HELP!

Nothing jumps to mind, but here are a couple of ideas:

-Are you using the original IDE cable that shipped in your 120? If you changed the cable, you might want to go back to the original.

-Have you booted into Windows (any flavor) with your AT&T drive attached to your PC? Some people have reported problems with drives after they were connected to PCs during a Windows boot . . .

Just so people know, he's all set now. Somehow his original drive got corrupted, but his backup was good. What was actually happening was he put TiVo into standby before doing the upgrade. When testing his restores backup, it came up and then went into standby.

Don't know how his original drive got borked, but he restored the backup and now things are good. He's even got 10 hours more than me =p
