34 Button Remote Question -- Switching Between Inputs
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I did do a search on this question and couldn't find anything under the terms I tried on -- it's possible that I missed something, so apologies if I'm bringing something up that already has an answer!
I have two TiVos and an A/B switch box that lets me switch between them. I just last week got a new TV that has more than one set of inputs, so in theory I can plug the A TiVo into A, the B TiVo into B and use the TV remote to switch inputs, so that would eliminate a trip across the living room.
However, the TiVo store has that neat little 34-button remote with a 1-2 switch. Am I right in thinking that the remote will be able to control the input switching on the TV, which would eliminate the need to pick up the TV remote at all?
(It's annoying to have a remote whose sole purpose is one teeny function... I'd like to be able to put it away in the drawer to simplify life.)

The 1/2 switch on the TiVo remote lets you control which TiVo you are controlling with one remote, but it will not change the input to your TV.
But even though it doesn't solve all your problems, not needing to pick up the right remote for the TiVo you are using is more than worth it!

The same remote that has the 1-2 switch also has a "TV Input" button that you should be able to set for stepping through your new TV's inputs.

Thank you! That is what I wanted to know! I guess I will go and order me one of them fancy new remotes, then! :)
