Screen Capture

Anyone else think that a Screen Capture facility would be a good idea? JPGs don't take up a lot of space and even if one could only store, say, ten of them, I'd love the facility. It would also be practical for keeping an address (for example) on-screen until you can write it down.

Why not use rewind/pause ?

You then need to get a pen/paper before you can watch anything else.

Being able to store a few stills for reference later would mean that you could wait for the wife to get home and note the address down for you :D

And what happens if you have no wife? Then you never get the address?:) Surely, all wifeless people must be able to somehow write things down.

Good point.

Wives still have a use after TiVo that way - and get involved in its use - that way they can't really name it as the third-party :D

I wonder if there are any wives out there with or without husbands who would like to comment as I am sure your voice should be heard other than this sexist stuff.

There must be certain cases where wifes are the noes that control TiVo rather than the husbands. Should we do a poll?

No - when a man, a woman and a remote co-exist - the man has his hands on the remote. It is law!

However, I will except that women do use TiVo when on their own - or when they are allowed!

The most avid TiVo fan in *this* household is 6 years old: and female...

Getting vaguely back on-topic, I think a screen grab from each program would be a good addition to the Now Playing screen. Even if (for example) it's just the opening message for Futurama/The Simpsons.

"I will not ignore my TiVo's suggestions" :D

There are some rare women who spend hours on the internet researching remote controls, buyng a Pronto and even more hours programming it. They then spend hours researching TiVo and buy one themselves and then spend more hours customising the Pronto remote, possibly considering some of their husband's suggestions.

In my household, I rule the home entertainment system!
