Nokia FTA?

Hello
I'm looking to get one of these new ITV Digital Free To Air Boxes.
But the Pace one looks a bit basic. Does anyone have an opinion on one of these Nokia Mediamasters? http://www.nokia.com/multimedia/freetoview What sort of price should I pay?, and where can I get one from?
And (most important), will it work with my TiVo?
Thanks.

Last i heard they are due out around 20th April and should cost about £150. From reading the web site it sounds like they are just ITV digital boxes without the subscription (or the ITV digital logo on the front)!!

The Nokia box is just the ITVdigital box, but the Nokia box does have an additional Digital Audio output socket, which the ITVD boxes dont. If you dont require the digital audio output, then I would wait a few weeks and see if ITVD close and the STB they supplied will be sold. This would be much cheaper than the current Pace FTA or the Nokia box.

If ITV do close then the only "cheap" boxes will be the pay monthly version.
Pre-pay (under the new £199 scheme) will have cost the shops more than they can buy the new FTV boxes. The pay monthly ones cost dealers lower and in theory could be sold off without any legal come back once ITV have liquidated.
NOTE.. Small and i mean "small" numbers of the PACE box have arrived today and started to be sent out to dealers. DONT GET EXCITED many are only getting one or two as samples.
First impression is thats it's a next box with a smart menu system but lacking on connectivity.

The above is not true. The boxes currently being the property of ITV Digital,in liquidation would accrue to the creditors of ITV Digital.Dealers could only legally dispose of them with the permission of the liquidators and would have to pass on the receipts of the sale less presumably a handling charge.
It remains to be seen if the liquidators ,were ITV Dig to go into Liquidation ,would seek to repossess boxes in homes but in theory they could.Only the cost of this would deter them.

you might be technically right BUT in reality that is never going to happen.
As stated to recover from homes would cost more than the value that could be obtained for the receivers.
PRE-PAY stock is not subject to any ITV subsidy except for the paid for channels. No channels to offer = no one to claim any money. The dealer has already paid for the equipment and can sell it on. Downside is that he has already paid more that the new FTV receivers will cost. Selling a pre-pay box will actually provide a loss.
Pay monthly ARE subsidised and given away when a customer subscribes. If there are no channels there, then no one could ask for payment... Again the dealers have already paid out their cash to buy this stock..
The reality is that if ITV go next week everyone will sell off their stock as FTV boxes and then buy in the new stock such as Pace and Nokia etc.
If ITV continue i doubt if they will visit me, collect a few hundred receivers and say "thank you, here's your money back"..
But let's wait and see..

The pre-paid boxes are not the dealers.
The dealer is selling a pre-paid subscription to a pay TV service, and as part of that subscription a box is provided by ITV Digital.
At all times the box is owned by ITV Digital, whether it happens to currently be in the hands of a dealer, or in the hands of a subscriber.
It would depend on several factors as to whether the administrators / liquidators of ITV Digital could get their boxes back without refunding monies already paid, but there is no doubt they own the boxes at all times. It is a possibility that they are entitled to their boxes back, and any payment made by the dealer ends up in the same queue as anyone else, but that will be a matter of timing and the contracts between the dealer and ITV Digital.
What has not happened at any time is any payment to ITV Digital for the box.
Given the confusion (and you may well disagree with the above) I would make doubly sure of your position before hastily disposing of any pre-pay stock. Although there has been speculation that it is unlikely that a liquidator would find it worthwhile getting the boxes back from consumers, this isn't necessarily the case for dealers where there are bulk stocks. Also, if your contract is the mirror image of the consumers contract then it may be up to you to return the stock.

Perhaps all ITV digital subscribers could be asked to drop off any boxes at their nearest football club in lieu of payment ?
