Ok so not the best subject ever used but it did get your attention!
I'm sure I've seen this reported before but could not find it when I searched.
The problem is with scheduled recordings on the ToDo list disappearing without trace. When it happened to me before I did not realise for a couple of days but last night it happened right before my very eyes!
TiVo was set to record Stir of Echoes at 9pm. I had scheduled the recording over a week ago. Then at about 8.55 last night I realised there was something on another channel I wanted to record at 9.30. I went into the ToDo list, selected Stir of Echoes and chose View Upcoming Broadcasts. There were 4 occurrences listed including the one that night. By the time I had mentally checked the date/time of the other 3 to see if I could record one of them instead I noticed that it was gone 9pm but the red record light had not come on. I also noticed that the first one in the list did not have a yellow tick beside it. Very strange.
When I looked in Recording History there was no mention of Stir Of Echoes at all. It had just disappeared.
I blame Paul Danies myself! :)

Presumably because you were 'doing things' at 9pm tivo decided you were watching something else and decided to schedule a later showing for you...

I posted a similar problem here, but had a hard time covincing people it wasnt user error.

Firstly, tivo wouldn't "decide you were watching something else" and not record a scheduled programme. If you are watching somethin else, it pops up a dialogue that asks if you want to stay watching or record. No answer is interpreted as "record".
I bet it's because you were editing "stir of echoes", so tivo couldn't "see" it when it came around to the time to record. This can easily be tested by putting in another recording and opening it just before it's time to record.
