What happened to BBC2?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I seem to have run out of guide data for BBC2. Its just listed as 2 hour blocks with a generic title. All other channels are fine and daily calls are successful.

Is this just me or has anyone else suffered this?

Mine did the same - Luckily it still recorded Ice Dogs - Phew

But did you get the end? The snooker ran about 5-6 minutes late!

I wonder if that's why it missed Room 101 on Monday night? :(

Posted by: mrtickle

Ah so it wasn't just me that missed Room 101.
No trace of it in Recording History - no "not recorded", "deleted" or anything. I was beginning to think I was suffering from the myterious vanishing recordings bug?

I tried to record it 'manually' when I realised it wasn't recording - but it wasn't in the list of programs beginning with R...
I then didn't something (can't remember exactly what) with the season pass for it, and it told me it couldn't do that right now, and to try a gain later...
weird...

I have Friday missing, Saturday OK, Sunday missing, and then OK up until the following Friday.

Mine is the "data holes" issue that is being discussed here

Could this be what you are suffering from?

You're definately not the only one. I've got exactly the same problem too. It think started the beginning of the week. I thought it was just a glitch with the guide data download but the Tivo's missed recording a couple of programs now. Heh, if I'm not careful I might miss Buffy

This seems to be back to an individual user problem - ie: it affects some users but not all.

The first occurance I have for 'BBC TWO' is at 6am on Sat 23rd Nov - which is what I would expect.

This thread is over six months old, so it appears to be a problem specific to EdTV at the moment. Have you checked that your calls are succeeding?

Ian.

Actually, it is reported quite often across several threads. It occasionally appears in the programme errors - but is a problem between individual users and TiVo.

I have see to identicle setup TiVo's with once having bits missing from the data.

In the case I had - only a Guided Setup fixed it - but a daily call.

Others have found that a Guided Setup with a new post code is required.

Yeah, I got that message too when trying to book a Season Pass for Rough Science on Friday night (about 10pm) - got a message along the lines "indexing data - please retry in 2 to 3 hours" (can't remember exact wording). Never seen it before - very strange.

Maybe it finds corrupt indexes, and deletes them before reindexing.

I only noticed the age of the thread after I posted. It appears to be old news. Yes, the calls are succeeding. All the other channel programme data is fine.

I was planning to 'clear programme data & todo list' based on what I've read in the other threads. Is this the best approach and will I have to reenter my wish lists and season passes?

Ed.

That may not be enough, you may have to re-do Guided Setup as ozsat says. Perhaps with a different postcode. Doing this over the top of your current setting should keep your SPs.

The "clear todo list" bit in "clear programme data & todo list" will wipe all your wishlists and SPs, yes :(

We resisted doing the 'clear programme data & todo list' for a long time and kept getting the same problem. Eventually we did it and have not seen the problem since.
