I cancelled TIVO suggestions

It was happening far too often. Either I would get the message that TIVO wanted to change channels to record one of its suggestions or one of my previously scheduled recordings.
The latter reason for the warning message was OK. But too often there was already a suggestion recording on the second tuner thus asking me to cut away from a live TV viewing.
Bye, Bye suggestions.

I had the same problem. I cancelled live TV, though, instead of suggestions :D

I got rid of suggestions last summer. It never recorded anything good and I already have way to much stuff sitting in my 'Now Playing' list.

Yep, That part sucks.
I'd really like it if it limited suggestion recording to one tuner at a time, that would eliminate the need for you to be bothered if you are watching live.

Live TV is for suckers. Enjoy your commercials, while I enjoy my TiVo.
'nuff said.

If I want to listen to Music Chocie on DTV, I have to use it live as the DirecTivo refuses to record or utilize trick plays. There are no commercials, but If a scheduled recording (or suggestion) is recording on the second tuner, I'm interupted for the lowest form of Tivo. The Suggestion. I don't want to get into a deep suggestion discussion. I still have them enabled, but they are **mostly** useless and this annoyance has had me considering turning them off like the original poster. If they only recorded on one tuner, I could have suggestions without the annoyance.

I'm looking forward to turning mine back on in three weeks with the end of the regular tv season.

What's live TV? Oh....wait...let me see...is that kind of like radio? :D

It's a little known fact that any TiVo user is welcome to turn suggestions off at any time, for any reason, or for no reason at all. Your membership will not be revoked. You will still be permitted to drink freely from the big vat of Kool Aid. Share and enjoy.

Yeah, i almost never see this message as I never watch anything live either.

My wife and I have given a "Thumbs Down" to so many things, that the TiVo is too afraid to record any suggestions! :D
Seriously, it only really records re-runs of things we already have SP's for (old ER episodes, etc), and a few occasional gardening programs. That means it does not record many -- but enough that we can use it as a rough guage of how many hours of free space we have.
I want my free space counter! Everything is at High Quality, and I don' t use VBR. So, it would be trivial to 100% accurately estimate how many hours of free space I have...
