Upgraded my T-60 to two 80 gig maxtors a couple of weeks ago. All has worked fine until now. It is now rebooting every 2 to 3 minutes. Temp is between 54 and 48, been there before with no problems. Could the new 3.0 update be causing a problem? My second stock t-60 is OK. I sure would like to know what direction to go on this. Thanks for any help you might offer.

You should consider pulling both of the drives and testing them using the newest version of Powermax, a diagnostic utility on Maxtor's site. If the tests show a bad drive, you've diagnosed your problem. If not, then you might consider re-imaging using your factory drive.
Good luck!

Thanks Michael for taking the time and effort to respond! I downloaded and ran the Powermax diagnostics. My A drive failed with a code 664557 so I ran the long test. I suppose it marked the bad sectors out. I reinstalled the drives in the tivo and all is ok right now. I will have to wait and see if the tivo gets back into the reboot thing or not. I am deliberating about replacing the bad drive with a new one. I just hate to have to go through all the work and loose my recordings.

If your drive failed and it is under warranty, you should definitely consider getting a new one from Maxtor. Their exchange program is excellent. If you give them a credit card, they will cross-ship the drive (send your new one and trust that you'll send the broken one). They won't charge the card so long as they get your broken drive within a certain time. Be sure to save that Powermax code...you'll need it to get a Maxtor RMA number.
Also, in our experience, failing the short test but passing the long test does not mean your drive is fixed.
