Re-Imaging DirecTivo Hard Drive?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Here's a question:
I had to use a virgin image, in conjunction with Dylan's Boot CD, to re-image the original 40GB hard disk in my father-in-law's DirecTivo after a second hard drive we added died.
As I have installed this image to the original drive and have not expanded it, can I expand the capacity of the unit as I might have originally, which is by simply blessing a B drive and throwing it in there? Or, by having re-imaged the original drive using the boot cd software, will I need to do something else to add the additional drive?

You should be able to bless the B drive without doing anything more to the A drive. You should obviously check that the A drive works before adding a B. So long as your virgin image is a software version prior to 2.0, you should not have any problems. If your image is 2.5, however, and if the image came from another TiVo, then you might have to "clear and delete everything" before your TiVo works properly.
Good luck!
