howdy

im a first time caller long time listener...

and my uk tivo's broke!

im reasonably confident its the B hard drive on the way out the door - if someone can look at the symptoms and confirm this i'd appreciate that.

- both drives boot ok but i think B goes down after some time
- tivo boots and will die after ~3 hours
- sometimes can hear a sound like a ball bearing dropping which i assumed was the drive since tivo starts misbehaving after that
- after ball bearing sound, video stops but menus are ok, and i can access half of my recorded shows

sounds quite obvious to me after typing that out but i'd like a "second opinion". Also, it would be good if someone out there knows that this is definately the B drive...

...because im thinking of replacing my B with a 120gb and keeping the A!

hopefully i can do the backup using the B since it stays up for about an hour or two... anyone experienced anything like this?

thanks for reading this

 & professor
