Help w/"Love Hurts"

Hi. I'm a fellow TiVo owner in the States. I need some advice on "Love Hurts", the BBC series from the early 1990s. I have been recording episodes of this series for my mother-in-law since she found out that I get BBC America with my satellite subscription. I see from epguides.com that this series was on for 3 seasons with about 10 eps per season for a total of 30 eps. My question is: is this series like "Dallas" and "Dynasty"? Rather, is "Love Hurts" a soap opera? This will settle a bet! Thanks for any help!

I never watched the series, and I'm sure you'll get a more comprehensive answer from someone who did, but from what I remember of it, it was more of a drama (or maybe comedy-drama - as I said I never watched it!) than a soap as soaps tend to be on-going (think Eastenders or Coronation Street over here in the UK) rather than series/seasons.

Yep, Carl's right. It was a series with a beginning, middle and end rather than an ongoing soap.

Definitely not a soap. Soaps use lesser-quality actors who prefer to be typecast than be out of work.

I seem to remember this as a typical BBC drama series with good-quality acting. Can't remember much more.
