I have an upgraded unit I need to send in for repair. I have a virgin backup that I can restore (~1.7 GB).

Or now that mfs tools exists, I can backup my upgraded unit now. Can I...

Backup uusing mfs tools (~500mb)
Remove the 2nd drive.
and Restore the mfs tools backut without the 2nd drive attached?
and still have a working Single unit Tivo?

Or do I have to restore the Virgin backup to go back to a one drive configuration?
