I decieded to add a 80gb Maxtor to my Phillips DTivo. I followed Hinsdales guide... and I went to go test my tivo. I just set the 2 drives outside the unit and tried to hook them up. The power connector on the B drive was tight... but I finally got it.
I mounted the drives... and boom... power cycling. I tried every jumper setting i could think of. I finally figured out that the second power connector wasn't working. I fixed that and boom :( GSOD :(.
I do have a good backup... but i would like to keep all my shows if possible. What are the chances that the tivo will fix itself. Is this cause by booting w/o the B drive connected after they were married. It power cycled many times in many diffrent jumper combinations. Any guidence is really appreciated. Thx alot.

I had the dreaded GSOD on one of my 6 upgrades, and it was a result of excatly the same thing, one of the dirves wasn't getting power. It DID fix itself after about 45 min. Give it a chance - you may be OK.
