Lets say I record an episode of the Osbournes in the morning. I watch it, and delete it the same day.

Now that same episode comes on later that same evening;

Will TiVo know not to record it again because it already has, or since I deleted off the HD, does TiVo just record it again (thinking it's new)???

If the show has accurate guide data, your Tivo will not tape the same episode twice within a 28 day period.

It's very smart. :)

It depends on the guide data for that episode. If the guide data is accurate, that episode won't be recorded again for 28 days. If there is no guide data, then yes, TiVo will record it again (even if you don't delete the first one).
