i have a Philipps Series 1 currently running v 2.5.1-01-1-000. Can or when will i get the upgrade to version 3.0?

secondly: when i bought my TIVO it already had Account Status: 5: Lifetime Service on it. If i call Tivo CS and ask for my account info will they cancel my lifetime service or just ask for my new information?

Thanks,
Tivo-Frank
Series 1 Upgraded to 83hours
Upgraded to a 4-pin case fan (25cfm)

1. You will get 3.0 soon - by the end of June, I'd be willing to guess.

2. Transferring the service into your name won't affect the lifetime service of the unit.

thanks for the info. Its pretty cool to see the former life of my TIVO. its recording all the Economics and Business stuff that the previous owner must have liked. Its pretty cool watching it "Learn" all the new stuff and start to forget the old stuff.
I'm working on a new cooling mod, i still don't like it running at 33 degrees (when its using the drives) and 31 live tv.
Any other posts on cooling, ive already tried insulating, using the factory fan in combination with a new fan in the back.

33 is more than cool enough. :)

You can also do a clear & Delete everything from the messages & setup > system reset menu to eliminate the old user's preferences.

TiVo never stops using the drives. If you are watching Live T.V., it is still recording a buffer.

And yes, those temps are fine.
