Something weird is happening and i cant seem to figure this out. I am getting different upload and download speeds from my tivo. This happens regardless of the transport, program, etc..

I have a Phillips Tivo, w/ 2x80GB. TivoNET w/ 1/2 duplex forced on the switch and the card (full made no difference).
Tivo version: 2.5.1-01-1-000

Here is what i get when i use FTP to send a ~3 Meg file, commands are issued from my linux box:

code:
ftp> binary 200 Type set to I. ftp> put esca-08.mp3 local: esca-08.mp3 remote: esca-08.mp3 227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,0,2,4,4). 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for esca-08.mp3. 226 File transfer complete. 3437169 bytes sent in 18 seconds (1.9e+02 Kbytes/s) ** file is deleted locally on my linux box (seperate window) ftp> get esca-08.mp3 local: esca-08.mp3 remote: esca-08.mp3 227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,0,2,4,2). 150 About to open data connection. 226 File transfer complete. 3437169 bytes received in 1.7e+02 seconds (20 Kbytes/s)

when i time a "cp" using NFS / SMB i get very similar #'s.

Any ideas?
