2.5.2 Keeps downloading, I think??

I bought a new DSR6000 DTivo to replace a unit (also a DSR6000) that had died. The drives were OK =, but the power supply or something was shot and of course Phillips/Tivo wanted nothing to do with my upgraded unit.
So I got the new one up and running fine and forced a call to upgrade to 2.5.2. After the reboot it kept hanging on "Updating database..." I called Tivo and they said it was a hardware issue.
I decided to try my two discs from the other unit in my new DTivo to see if it was a harddrive problem. Well the new discs worked fine (well after the error #51 and the Clear and delete everything). These discs had already been updated to 2.5.2 (on the previous unit), so I thought everything was OK. But I noticed that is also downloaded something Sunday morning and was pending restart. It went through "Installing new software from the Tivo Service" but not to the "Updating database..." screen (I thought this was because it was already updated to 2.5.2 and it was installing something else. The unit came up and all appeared OK.
Again today I got home and it was pending restart, same thing happened as above.
Is my unit trying to download the 2.5.2 upgrade everyday??? And if so, why? I was told that drives from Phillips to Phillips was an OK transition and that I would get the error #51 and just clear and delete everything and it would all be OK.
I know this kind of thing would happen if I took Phillips drives and put them in a Sony.
Any help would be appreciated. Could this be related to why the original harddrive got stuck on the "Updating database..." screen?
Oh, my version says 2.5.2-01-1-001.
Do I need a 2.0 image for a Phillips DSR6000 to restore so that is will work OK, rather than the 2.5.2 discs I installed into the unit?
