Cosby Show on Nick: Why so short?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

We started watching the cosby show on Nick, but we are started to get sick of it -- the show is so short.
Credits come one at :24 minutes, and it seems like they have cut a couple of scenes from the episode. Am I the only one noticing it?

That's pretty normal for syndication. They stuff in more commercials now than they did 10 years ago.

Nick at Nite is horrible....

I want to say that shortening the episodes are a planned effort to keep from soiling your mind with crappy shows such as the Cosby Show, but that doesn't answer your question, nor does it add anything germane to the conversation, so I'll not say that... :)

The shows are shorter because all references to Chuck Huxtable, the controversial oldest son played by C. Thomas Howell, have been removed. Not one of Bill Cosby's brightest ideas.

I'm curious, what was so controversial about him? (Sorry, I never followed the show)
As for the episodes being so short, stormsweeper is right, that is normal for syndication. Scenes get cut and commercials get added, that's just the way it works. Just for the record, an average syndicated episode of the Simpsons lasts about 21 minutes.

Yep, snpp.com has everything doesn't it! I noticed some of the newer episodes which are moving to syndication unfortunately are cutting out some of the punch lines and funnier parts of the episodes. :( Well, it doesn't matter for me, because I have about 200 "un-syndicated", commercial free episodes on tape! :)

Chuck was the only reason the show was any good.
I am not sure why C. Thomas never won the emmy for his work on this show.
The fact that they would act like this never happened is a television tragedy.
So many things are not making me HAPPY these DAYS, but this has to take the cake.

I think the fact that little Rudy was really the illegitimate love child of Lisa Bonet and C. Thomas Howell had something to do with it.
