Arli$$ on HBO!

Any fan's of Arli$$ out there? I avoided it during the season...decided to look at a re-run earlier this month....I've gotten hooked...good story's, well acted, reminds me a wee bit of "Seinfeld and Curb your enthusiasm". The guy who plays the lead apparently thought it up, directs it, play's the lead, and produces it. Quite talented...IMHO. I also read, that HBO has picked it up for a second season. BTW, HBO is showing the first year in multiple showings during the month...mostly non-repeats...all rebroadcasts of the first year. If you go to try it, think of it as a concept put together basically by one guy, who had a vision, and it looks like he has made a go of it...for that, it's well worth it...the half hour flies by and contains multiple story lines...some carry over in subtle ways to the next show...the supporting cast is excellent...so you almost need to watch more than one show to "get it". It will be interesting to see the comments that are sure to follow this thread...I already saw one or two that "were surprised that HBO renewed it". That's what makes the world go around...yada-yada-yada. -30-

I think it's a great show. I'm a serious sports fan, so I relate to the theme. It could only be on cable because the adult language is a must for the show to be funny.

I think the shows running now ARE the new season. Also, I am pretty sure it is at least the 3rd season. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken on either point.

They have had two new episodes air so far.

I had forgotten about this show, and tried to set a season pass for it last week, but when I type in Arl, the show does not come up as a possibility. Any thoughts?

Personally I think this is one of the few instances where HBO dropped the ball on one of its original series. It certainly lags behind most of the others in critical acclaim, not that what the critics say is the only measure of a show by any means.

Anyway i just wanted to chime in and say that I'm pretty sure this is season seven for Arliss, a pretty amazing number when you think about it. So I guess this show has found an audience, to each his own right?

The first runs are HBO on Sunday nights. Go there via time/channel search and set your season pass.
