TurboNet not working
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just installed my TurboNet card but unable to connect to network. I have tried using the dialing prefix: ,401 as well as ,#401. I get the same result, failed- service unavailable. I am using it on a SA Philips Tivo unit, I also have it connected to my Linksys router and cable modem. My Tivo currently has version 3.0, so I thought that all I needed to do was install the TurboNet card and reboot the Tivo after changing the dialing prefix and everything would work. Is there something that I still need to do to get it to work? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have DHCP on your router?

Yes, I have DHCP enabled on my router, but when I look at the DHCP Clients table only my computer is listed and not the Tivo.

I have the exact same setup that you have. ( mine works perfectly)....did you reboot your Tivo after installing the Turbonet card & typing in the phone number? Also, unplugging your cable modem for a few minutes might help too, as well as your Linksys router. Good luck....

Same thing happened to me a few days ago, because I lost power temporarily to my Linksys router. Had to reboot my Tivo to re-establish its connection to the router.

I found out what was wrong with my setup. The patch cable that I was using turned out to be a crossover cable. I now have my network cable going directly into my TurboNet card, the only problem with this setup is that the end connector is too large to pass through the hole in the back of the Tivo so I need to keep the cover off the Tivo until I get a new patch cable.

I was able to squash my case down with the cable coming out the back left side. I couldn't put the screw in on that side, but I fit the other 3...
Sometime this week I plan to borrow a CAT5 crimper from work and will snip the cable and run it out the air ducts in the bottom to make it nice and clean.

When I installed my TurboNet I was able to take the fan out of the back and put a small patch cable through the bottom. The trick was to bend the metal supports holding the fan in place a little bit to allow the fan to slide out. This is on a Philips HD612 unit so this may not work for everyone.
