Bad TiVo! No more suggestions and screwy season passes

After 18 months of flawless operation, my Sony T-60 started behaving oddly about two weeks ago.

Firstly, it doesn't record any TiVo suggestions any more (even when there is lots of space). I've checked the "Record Suggestions" switch, and even tried turning it off then on again.

Secondly, for Season Passes where I have "Keep at Most x Episodes" set - it's taken to recording lots of them - and not deleting the old ones. So for various news shows, where I only want one episode - I end up with 4 or 5.

Any ideas?

It is obviously Tivo filling it with ads for the dreaded yellow star. Don't worry, it keeps them in bizness.

The 18 month warranty must have expired.

Did you by chance create a new Auto Recording Wish List about 2 weeks ago? Perhaps you created one that's a little too generic (program type - news show, as a possibility). This could explain why it is now recording multiple episodes even though your Season Pass(es) is(are) set to KAM 1. This could also explain why you're not getting recorded Suggestions - your TiVo may be so busy recording (and deleting) the extra shows that it has no open time slots to record Suggestions. Another thought - check your To Do list; you may pick up some clues there.

Look into the Recording History
It might give you a clue as to why some shows are being recorded and why some are not.
In the to-do list you can right arrow to look at a sheduled recording and edit season pass will tell you which season pass is scheduling the recording.
Also if it's a whishlist it will have a Star instead of a check mark.
