I went to TiVo website today. I found that cute little TiVo doll to buy for $9.95. I thought - Great I'll buy one!

Then I saw they want $7.25 to ship the darn thing!!
I thought - Gee what a ripoff!

It's just a little doll for gosh sakes!!, It's not a huge 7ft doll. What's with the ripoff shipping charge? You could Send it to me regular mail in cheap little cardboard box for about $1.25 shipping cost. Is the $7.25 shipping cost for FEDEX overnite express delivery?

Yup, same shipping for a $4.95 IR-Blaster. Cost me <$1 to ship my spare blaster across country...

They may well use FexEx, who I haven't found to be cheap. If not, the rest is probably 'handling.' Shipping plush dolls isnt' exactly the primary business over at tivo. Its more a vanity thing for us tivo geeks.

Of course the only related thread I can find to reference is a year old. http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...st&pagenumber=2 Check out TivoStores comment and on the next page the TivoOpsMgr comment. No one is getting rich off yours shipping costs.

Check on Ebay. There are a few people selling them cheaper.

I'm sure no one is "getting rich" off of shipping costs, but why charge so much for such a little bitty thing like this? If FEDEX is ripping them off, they should use regualr mail to ship the darn thing. Use FEDEX for the big stuff like sending out the refur-bashed and new TiVos quicker.
