I bought the ptvupgrade.com additional hard drive.
my tivo crashed and will not startup, just the startup screen but nothing else and the drive makes a clicking sound.
can i somehow restore the tivo, is there a reset button?

Remove the drives and run the manufacturer's diagnostics. Sounds like a dead drive, but the diags should confirm it. Do you know which drive is clicking? If it's the new one, return it to the seller for a replacement. If it's your old one, I hope you have a backup. Otherwise, you'll have to get a new A drive, or trade your upgrade B drive for one.
Good luck!

Oh, and there is no reset button. Pull the power cord, wait for a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
Another thing to check is that the drive pins are all okay. If you installed the IDE cable upside down (it can be done if it's not keyed), it will bend or break one of the pins.
