Firmware Flash question

Saturday I decided to upgrade/reupgrade all my TiVos to better utilizes my storage. So I downgraded the storage on my two SAs and used the drives to upgrade my DirecTiVos. All of this using MFSTOOLS 2.0

Anyway, now the firmware flash part...

I ordered two TurboNet cards to use in my DirecTiVos. They arrived yesterday (thanks Mark) and I proceded to install them. On my first Phillips DirecTiVo I followed the instructions for flashing the firmware on the MB and reattached the drives and powered it up. To my surprise it booted normally, no second reboot as described in the instructions. I assumed that it did NOT flash the firmware so I removed the drives and reinstalled the software to flash the firmware. I noticed that the inactive boot and kernal partitions were different the second time around.

This time everything worked and now all is working as it should. My other Hughes DirecTiVo worked as is should the very first time.

Anyone else have a similar problem or does anyone know why the flip flop of the active partitions made a difference?

Thanks
