Help me replace a fried A Drive!!

O.K. I have downloaded every utility known in the tivo land and still have no idea how to make a new A Drive for my dsr6000.

I will admit i am an idiot in the tivo lingo but have some computer skills. For the life of me, i can not find instructions on how to take a .bak image file that is on a cd, get it on a 40g drive, put it in my tivo box and make it work.

Can anyone tell me what the heck to do in english. I know i am probably making this harder than it needs to be, but for all of us idiots out there that bought a phillips unit and got burned cause the hard drive burned up and we did not make a backup, PLEASE HELP.

Try the underground. THey should be able to help. Do you know what a drive image is? Do you know how to restore an image to a hard drive? I am not sure what you mean by explaining in English, it sounds like you can handle it.

Thanks for your reply. I will try the underground with the same question. I do have a drive image on cd but have no idea how to restore it on a new hard drive. I have not been able to find instructions on how to take an image on cd, run a command line and wallah the image is on the hard drive.
