If one has unsubbed SA Philips 112 and 212 boxes with 2.51 version and needs to rerun Guided Setup in order to change from Cable to Satellite programming will the units be disabled if a 3.0 upgrade is implemented?

Is there another way to change providers without rerunning Guided Setup?

Don't know what happens if you rerun Guided Setup but a friend has an unsubbed Philips Series 1 SA (HDR312 - dual 13.6GB drives) running 3.0. I just got done upgrading it with a single 120GB drive.

As I recall one of your units is already upgraded. You could backup/restore to another drive and run the Guided Setup on the restored drive.

Rerunning Guided Setup will not download a new version of the software. That is only done during a daily call. Also, as Knouse said, the TiVo will work just fine without a subscription if it downloads 3.0.
