Is this hookup possible?

I have a DirecTV dual LNB setup and a Tivo Series2. Would it be possible to hook up a second Tivo Series2 to the same TV (through my sattelite) so I could record 2 different channels at once, or record from 1 Tivo while watching a different channel through the other? Is there a good site to go to that would explain how to do something like this?

With Stand Alone Tivo's you will need two DirecTV receivers in order to do this. And if they are in the same room you will have a lot of 'fun' building IR forts to prevent the Tivo's from changing the channels on the wrong reciever.
That's why it is so much better to buy the DirectTivos. They have this built in. I would get one of those in a heartbeat.

Provided you don't mind picking up another reciever (and you don't already have two) then that would be very easy to do. The IR forts aren't really that much of a problem, if you don't mind a little black tape on your units.
Hooking them up to the same TV would either require you to use a standard/aux input setup or have a switch to switch inputs to the TV. That isn't very expensive either way.
You will be forced to pay an extra $4.99 a month for the spare box, but that isn't that costly either.
The DirecTivo option works only if you get locals from DTV, if not, then that would be a small problem.

Be aware that you will need another subscription for the second Series 2.

how would i keep the IR's from interfering with each other?

Get (or check to see if yours is) a DirecTV receiver that supports using the serial interface cable to handle channel changes and forget using IR.
