My roommate told me about it so I have yet to see a preview, but Slamball starts July 29 on TNN after RAW. Sounds interesting enough and makes me want to watch Baseketball.
quote:
SLAM HIGHER, SLAM HARDER, SLAMBALL
It's non-stop, hard-hitting, human video game action played on a revolutionary trampoline and spring-loaded surface. The New TNN is proud to be the home of SlamBall, the first hybrid team sport that combines the fast-court action of basketball with elements of football, hockey, lacrosse, and gymnastics. SlamBall features outrageous hard-core athletes who perform athletic feats never before seen in professional sports. SlamBall tips off on Saturday, August 3 at 8:00 PM (ET/PT) as part of the The New TNN's "Slammin' Saturday Night Lineup."
Calling the action is The New TNN's expert team of announcers. Pat Parnell, host of MTV's Sports and Music Festival and host of NBC's Gravity Games, provides play-by-play and Reggie Theus, a two-time NBA All Star, provides color commentary.
Pat Croce, former president of the Philadelphia 76ers, renowned business guru and motivational enthusiast and a partner in the SlamBall venture, makes a special guest appearance in the debut game.
A hybrid sport, SlamBall is the brainchild of 27 year- old "gym rat" Mason Gordon who developed and refined the game under the aegis of Tollin Robbins Productions. Also a SlamBall player, Gordon plays the handler position on the Diablos. Taped in Los Angeles, the debut season of the sport features six team competing for the first-ever SlamBall championship. Behind-the-scenes interviews with the players and coaches, along with in-depth player profiles are also featured in each one-hour telecast. The New TNN will telecast SlamBall beginning Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8:00 PM, ET/PT).

Looks like basketball that's been taken over by the politically correct to enable vertically challenged people (and even white guys) to dunk.

Well from what I was told it was also full contact, which is what would make it interesting to me. I could care less about white guys dunking, but then again basketball is one of those sports I have never enjoyed playing or watching.

Personally I would love Baseketball (from the same named movie) to become a real sport. Those sike-outs were great!

I'm glad to see TNN is showing anything besides The Godfather for the 10,000th time. My first instinct was yeah, this looks cool.
I also thought the XFL would go over. Until I watched. So we will see.

Seen it... Not sure yet! was some good hits, good dunks. So I will have to give it another look.

I watched it. Not too great, not too shabby. It's worth another shot.
Pretty impressive dunks though.

I thought it was fun to watch. The dunks and some of the collisions as people went for dunks were cool.
It's almost nonstop action. They played 2 games in an hour.
I admit I gave it a low priority season pass

What is really sad is I started the thread and forgot to watch it. Tivo didn't record it because my other guilty pleasure was on, Undressed.

I watched the second installment of this and I am enjoying it more and more. That is probably due to some great teamwork and alleyoops in one of the games.
What is distressing though is that the airings are named. Show #1 was Opening Day, Show #2 Early Season, Episode #3 upcoming is labeled mid-season. That is going to make for a very quick season at that rate.
