Upgrade T-60

I have Sony t-60 Six months old.

I want Upgrade The hard disk

But Want Keep The One I am Using Now as Backup.
Put in a 100 GB in it place and Keep The old Hard disk in a Safe Place.
This way if add a 2nd Drive later and Get Twice the Diskspace.
I Can Still go back Install The old drive in a Crash or major Problem.

How would do I it Step by step
