Just wanted to share my success in upgrading my TiVo, nothing so many of you haven't already done, but I'm just psyched it all went so smoothly.

I have a Sony SVR-2000, went from 32 hours up to 184 hours, though we record most at the medium quality, so it's actually 109 hours, but who's counting?

Anyway. the most difficult part was getting the thing delivered. FedEx said it was delivered Monday around 5:15p, but it sounds like it was signed and delivered in an entirely different city. It wasn't til Thursday it showed up on my doorstep, a bit battered. The mouting braket was a bit bent, but I was able to bend it back to near-perfect form.

Regardless, it's in is great.

I have Time Warner digital cable and after the HD was in there, I was experiencing channel change problems. Well after about 30 mins of toying with the TiVo's IR blaster settings, I realized I shoudl try the actual cable box's remote. Same problems. So it was a relief it was the cable box. I hate it when something like that happens.. trying to fix something that isn't broken. :(

Currently, the cable box still isn't working right... but our line is supposed to be checked today.

Regardless, the TiVo is ready to record, record and then record some more. :D
