Square Pegs

Well, my Square Pegs WL finally paid off!

It will start airing from the beginning on TVLand on 8/3.

Yahoo! I loved this show. I remember rushing home from dance class in 6th or 7th grade to catch it each week in the early eighties. :)

TVLand is my new favorite network. I'm completely addicted to Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, thanks to a heads-up here in this forum.

I liked Mary Hartman, but tonight's shows are the last, TVLand only got the first 35 shows, but hopefully they will get more if people tell them that they liked it. Don't remember Square Pegs, will have to record a couple to see if it is good.

NOOOOOoooooooo! Oh that news makes me so sad. :(

I immediately wrote them about it, but it looks like they have a limited number of episodes of many of their shows, so I'm not holding my breath.

I hope you enjoy Square Pegs...it's a cheesy 80's sitcom about 2 geeky high schoolers. Sarah Jessica Parker played one of the two girls. I haven't seen it since it originally aired, so I'm curious to see what I think about it now. :)

Don't forget the episode with DEVO making an in-school appearance!

Anyone else catch the first weekend's eps? I was thoroughly entertained. I forgot about the laugh track though. Sort of strange.

I loved the chorus singing, "Ketchup is a vegetable!" over and over. That cracked me up. :)

The "other" star, of course, is Johnny Slash as played by the late Merritt Buttrick who played James T. Kirk's son in two Star Trek movies. He succumbed to AIDS in 1989. :(

(Shouldn't limit it to just him and SJP, though...Jami Gertz and Tracy Nelson also appeared in this excellent, short-lived show.)

Didn't Freaks & Geeks kind of remind you of Square Pegs? It did for me.

yeah... SJP in the *early* days.

sally, the laugh track caught me by surprise too. It's been a long while since I've seen it though so I guess I forgot about it. Very enjoyable to watch, hard to believe I had a short-lived crush on Tracy Nelson, I think it was the valley girl talk :p . The Waitresses performing was just too classic, really, really fun.

What a theme song!

Pan, no doubt about the similarities between the two. Suggestions caught the pilot of F&G on ABCFamily Saturday night-big treats TV wise all the way around this weekend. Really struck me what we lost in F&G being cancelled and of course that reminded me of the cancellation of Undecidied :( . I hate losing good shows.

BTW, anyone noticed the ads for the new show on CBS starring Jami Gertz? Looks like another sitcom formula stinker  .

I can still vividly remember that theme song.

Have the first couple eps waiting for me on TiVo... can't wait to rewatch this show.

I LOVED him on this show! I was so mad they killed him in Star Trek 3, it ruined the movie for me. So sorry to hear he died.
