Real World: The Lost Season

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

And I thought there really was a lost season. Found out this morning in a newspaper article that this is not the case.

Oh well.. I guess I'll watch it, but I forogt to set the TiVo to record it.

Huh? What do you mean lost season? I haven't heard anything about this yet..

It's a movie spoofing the whole Real World thing that MTV is airing. The first showing is tomorrow night; from all the reviews I've read, it sounds pretty awful.

Posted by: kilcher

The concept sounds pretty bad, something about someone who got rejected getting pissed off and kidnapping the cast and making them live in a house with him. Not sure I'll be able to watch the whole thing but I'm going to give it a shot.

This thread reminded me of something I've been meaning to ask:

MTV has the first airing of this listed with a length of 1:30, but all subsequent airings show up as two hours. Anybody know what's going on with that?

Posted by: shaunrose

I saw a commercial for it last night. I think the first showing is being run without commercials.

Real world? People actually watched this? Like most normal people, I gave up on it after two episodes in the first season. :p

The first airing is sponsored by pHisoderm so there are limited interruptions. The other airings have normal commercials

Actually, I'm a pretty big Real World fan. But I do have to say, this lost season things looks very stupid. If it were actually real, that would be one thing, but . . .

BTW, the next season of Real World is in Las Vegas.

Well, as expected, this movie was REALLY bad. The absolute WORST of it, however, were the "tacked-on" scenes of the past real world alumni sitting around in a room waiting for the "lost" cast to show up for a competition.

It was obvious that MTV shot those scenes at a later date and tacked them on, perhaps to get a longer running time. They could at LEAST have tried to match the widescreen aspect ratio of the rest of the stupid movie.

Not trying to hijack this thread (but realizing that I am), what is everyones favortie season/cast of the Real World? Mine would be Seattle. I actually was just in Seattle last month and, of course, I just had to make the pilgrimage to Pier 70 to see where it all took place.

Posted by: loopey

I haven't seen Seattle (though I seem to remember they are going to have it on a weekend marathon or already did). I think my favorite had to be London. I watched it one weekend they were doing a marathon and enjoyed it.

Boston and Hawaii were great, so was Chicago. The worst was New Orleans IMO. Correction: the worst was RW Movie. This was so unwatchable I forwarded the movie part and only bothered watching the "real" cast member scenes. Ugh!

Posted by: stormsweeper

The first New York one. The people on the show didn't know what to expect and weren't playing along to the conventions established in the later shows.

Posted by: loopey

I also liked the end of the first NYC one - when they broke into the camara/production room.

I never saw all the of the first NY one...why did they break in to the production room?

I still kinda like RW, but the last one, Boston(?) I really couldn't get in to. I didn't really like any of the people. Whiny. And lots of sex and nudity, which is ok to a point, but I sure don't like anyone better because they are always naked, or sleeping with different people! I was starting to think I'm getting too old for the show. :D

The last one was Chicago, an okay one.

They broke in bascially because they weren't allowed in there. So at the end they wanted to see it and what went on. It was funny and hasn't been done since.

They actually do that every season. It's apparently tradition. However, they haven't shown it since the first one.

I think MTV is determined to run this thing into the ground. There's no need for two seasons per year.

Looks pretty dumb if you ask me. :(
