Anyone watch this show? If not, I suggest you check it out some time. It's on the food channel. They basically show you how mass-produced foods are made. Very interesting. Mark Summers gets a little cheesy at times, but it is still a good show.

A good show, but -- like many FTV hosts -- Summers is annoying to the point of being distracting.

The show would be greatly improved without Summers. He reminds me of Bill Maher in funeral makeup.

Agreed on Summers--I liked him on Double Dare, but here he's just painful. Get rid of him and his condesending tone, and the show would be a lot more enjoyable.

I kinda like Summers. You can fast forward every time he actually appears on screen, since those little filler bits contain 0% information or humor. It makes the show go that much faster.

The one on ice cream toppings showed how maraschino cherries are made. Before they are dyed they look like eyeballs floating in that big vat.

Same opinion here. Too cutesy. I like the show though. It's very informative.

I saw that one, they were disgusting, they were like little white blobs.

I guess I was trying to keep my tone a little more positive, but now that you all mention it, Summers is a chump.

I like the show too .. I could do without the segments on the collectors and the reuse of segments though.

This show is great! It's really interesting to see how they make some of the foods, especially considering that the machinery is potentially making thousands per hour!

I like the show. The host really doesn't bothe me much. Honestly, I never gave him a second thought until everyone here started to mention him.

I loved this week's show on minty foods. The Dreyer's ice cream and Brach's candy tours were great. There's only so many ways you can discuss how something gets enrobed in chocolate, so I'm glad they focussed on the "air hockey" technology in this episode. I'd also never heard of the Peppermint Pig, but I think we may have to try that out this Christmas.

Sorry about that. I guess it should have been posted as a spoiler. ;)

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
the host is a nimrod!

Apparently, this show is a ratings winner lately, too.

See this article.

Definitely agree about the reuse thing. I had a SP for this and enjoyed it until they started showing "Summer Food" and "Theme Park Food" repackaged with old footage.

I think every food item made goes through a factory spinning drum at some point if you follow the show... :)

Great show considering some of the major mfrs they have been able to get involved who are typically known for secrecy.
