Any CYE fans here?
If you like Seinfeld you'll enjoy this show.
Larry David (creator of Seinfeld) is the creator and star.
It airs first 2 seasons shows Mondays on HBO @9PM and repeats on Wednesdays on HBO2 @ 8PM Each showing is 2 episodes.
New season starts with Sopranos.
Check it out. :D

As far as comedies go, this show is one of the most consistently funny programs on television as far as I’m concerned. I got hooked on it once the second seasons started, so I was grateful that HBO re-ran the entire series. Now I’ve seen every episode (and plan to re-watch all of season two. Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm? September 15th has been circled on my calendar for quite some time!

Wow. Despite being a huge Seinfeld fan, I must have no sense of humor. I tried watching this show and...just...didn't...get...it. I was astounded to see it has been nominated for an Emmy for Best Comedy.

They say Larry David is the inspiration for the "George Constanza" character on Seinfeld. No wonder he was always my least favorite character on the show.

(I also tried watching the horrid Mind of the Married Man. Blech! Seems like they are just digging up old Dream On scripts, except this guy is married.)

Count me in. I'm happy to be catching up with the early season episodes, after watching all of last season. My wife, in her unique Japanese way, calls it "the show with the super-idiot guy". This show is so funny, and Larry's "character" is so irredeemable, that it literally hurts.

September 15th? Is this the start date for Season Three? Does anyone know?

Yes, Sept 15th 10pm right after Sopranos.

I watched the first episode of that show and my enthusiasm for it was seriously curbed by the time the show ended. I haven't watched it since.

That's pretty good...just two words and I was snickering.

But the show DID sort of seem to be getting tired already at the end of the last season...hopefully it will get a LITTLE more life this year.

I like it. It's one of my favorite shows this summer and a welcome Oasis during the reruns. I get a tiny bit annoyed at Larry sometimes, but for the most I really enjoy him. I'm sure that's most people's reaction to him. His interaction with Richard Lewis is great. You definitely get the idea that this is stuff that has actually happened to him and that he handled it somewhat similarly in real life.

Great show! Can't wait for the new season!

I absolutely cried the time he goes to Starbucks -

"COFFEE and MILK!??! WHO Would've thought? How did they come up with this? Coffee and Milk??!!"

:D

I felt the same, I watched the first three shows and thought it was awful and stopped watching. However, I gave it a second chance and found it to be very funny. Maybe it found its stride in the second season. In any case, I kept my season pass for it and look forward to its return.

I really like the show but can only take it in measured doses. Recently, with the back-to-back showings of the earlier seasons, my Now Playing list has stacked up a few episodes. I watched two in a row and by the time the third started playing I had to turn it off. Too much Larry David can really get annoying.

But I still give it a thumbs up

I for one LOVE the Curb. And I have a strange attraction to his onscreen wife too. I don't know what it is but Cheryl Hines is hot. I can't seem to find her age online either... anyone know offhand?

Yes, she is hot. And no way she'd be married to a schlub like Larry David. There is no justice

IMDB lists her birthday as September 21, ????. I guess she wants to keep it a secret. I'd guess a young 40ish.

I guess the people that enjoy it are those that see a little bit of Larry in themselves. I've never met anyone that is as manic as him but I've reacted to certain incidents in a similar manner.

BTW, Dream On was the first and still the best ever while on HBO.
Larry Sanders was a close 2nd.

as Larry would say - What's so strange she is hot looking with bonus personality she even honors her bets by performing in the car  ;)

I liked it a lot last year. But I found that my interest died down after a while. It's still fun, but awfully repetitive. There's only so much Larry you can take, and the gratuitous celebrity-pimping gets tiresome.

They need more plots besides larry screws up.

I honestly don't think the show is JUST "Larry screws up" (though that does happen frequently). A significant part of it is more like "Larry refuses to play the game" when some sort of Hollywood phoniness or inane social nicety is called for or "Larry is a victim of circumstance" (such as the "Beloved Aunt" fiasco).

It's when Larry is in the right and stands up for himself, yet he gets shot down at every turn while attempting to do so that the show really makes me cringe (but in a good way). It's cases like that when he becomes the little guy who can never win (despite his multi-millions from Seinfeld...).

Eh. It still ends up Larry screws up though.

And his wife doesn't really have much of a role. I mean she's on screen a lot and is very funny and charming. But it's always an exasperate expression with Larry. She basically exists to react to Larry, which is okay, I mean she's funny at it. But I guess I'm expecting the show to be to focus too much on the story, when it's more about extemporaneous events.

I just started watching it, and am really enjoying it. (My husband can't stand it, but he's one of the few who hated Seinfeld.) I can see his point, Larry could be annoying. There really isn't much plot, but it's funny anyway, in the same way Seinfeld was - people reacting to everyday situations with some oddball twists thrown in.

I've only seen three or four, but have set up an SP and will continue to watch.

I also think she's a cutie, when someone mentioned her age wasn't posted anywhere I thought I'd let Google do the walking.

It came up with this link: http://www.leon.leon.k12.fl.us/history/almuni_vips.htm that includes a H.S. picture.
So if she graduated class of 83 I'd put her at 37 now. A bit younger than Larry David's 55.
