I'm running TivoWeb successfully on a DTivo 2.5. I connect using Win2k. I am trying to peform the following operation:

OPERATION
For regular operation put "/var/hack/tivoweb-tcl/tivoweb" (with the correct
directory) at the end of the startup script (/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit).

What editor should I use to edit the rc.sysinit? I tried using Notepad, but it didn't look right...

I know this is a simple question, I'd rather take the ridicule of asking a stupid question than mess up a 259 hour DTivo with TivoWeb and countless hours of programming.

Use the joe editor on the TiVo, or use TextPad on your client and FTP the file (remember to verify the permissions when you do), or use UltraEdit which supports FTP file open and saving.
