I know this question has to be asked all the time so I was hoping there is a web site somewhere with the step by step instructions on how to use the tivonet card?

I have a Pc running XP
Cable Internet Connection
a Linksys Router
and a Tivonet card!

My modem just died and after talking with tivo I am not going to spend $150 for a referb unit!!!!!

I can handle hooking up the tivonet card to the router. I know DHCP has to be on on the router! That part seems easy!

My question is then what?

Do I FTP to the Tivo or what? Can I communicate with the TIVO using XP??

Thanks for any answers!

Links would be nice so I don't keep asking stupid questions!

Just put ,#401 in the dialing prefix setting on your TiVo (in Messages & Setup > Modem Options). That will be more than enough until you can get some more advanced stuff. Read http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...&threadid=64240 for locations of howtos and other useful data. :)

Hi,

If you have a non DTivo, you have v3 software, and you only want to do the daily call then you can configure the dailing prefix as outlined in the earlier link.

If you have a DTivo, a SA without v3 software, if you want to use a static ip address, or if you want to be able to ftp/telnet in then installation instructions are here:

Enjoy
