Going from 3.0 to 2.x on Phillips 312

I have a Phillips 312 that I added a 40Gig Maxtor drive to. All was well for over a year...

During my upgrade to 3.0 the call was interupted and we have had many power failures since during recording.... Now my machine is studdering...

I want to take my origional A drive (I kept the origional in storage) that has version 2.x on it and reimage the A drive, add a B drive and rebless or what ever is the current method.

My question is I will be going from 3.0 to 2.x . Will Tivo re-upgrade itself?

Is there a faq for this news group?

What is a Moron?

Thanks

-Dave

Several people have reported stuttering problems after the 3.0 upgrade. It seems to be due to a problem with the guide database. The apparent solution is a factory reset, but this purges your recordings, so you might want to do a 'clear guide data' reset first.

It is possible to prevent a TiVo upgrading, but I don't know how.

The current best upgrade method is to use MFS Tools 2.0. See the latest New Hinsdale for important info on using it safely.

This is not a news group. There are several FAQs around, like www.tivofaq.com

A Moron is someone who installs a Sony image on a Philips TiVo (or vice-versa) or who installs an image with an earlier version than that shipped with his TiVo. Both of these actions cause Bad Things to happen.

I don't want to prevent Tivo from upgrading... I just want to make sure it will again.

Now to find where MFS Tools 2.0 is hiding...
