telnet issues

Hello,
just added 120 gigs to my tivo SA with v3.0 on it, my modem got fried in a storm so i had to do the net card upgrade i manged to get the telnet going without a hitch "but" when I tried to access my files via telnet it states that the dirs that i made don't exist. I did everything the faq said and confirmed my dirs with the "l -ls" statement and everything that i copied was there dirs and progs. tftp prog is inaccessible via /var/hack. What am I doing wrong ???????????????????????
