3.0 ONLY

it was different under 2.5.1

This works for me, with the exception of one recording which I haven't figured out. I find it useful when copying stuff in from the camcorder to make copies to tape. I don't like the "Manual" on the info screen when you dump to VCR.

You need to get the FSID of the show which is available from Tivoweb NowPlaying. You can see it by mousing over the episode, which will show "http://tivo/showing/XXXXXX/11

Edit the script to have clearmanual XXXXXX/10, and run it. It wasn't written to be brainless to use - Just a tool I wrote for infrequent use.

This would be a nice addition to the "edit show" page in Tivoweb

I found that the previous Beta of TiVoweb let put the "manual:" in the text edit box, and let me get rid of it. However the latest Beta behaves differently and doesn't let me.

Awesome Zirak, works like a charm. Thanks!

I tried running the script and got the following error:

bash-2.02#
bash-2.02# cm.txt
/var/hack/cm.txt: proc: command not found
/var/hack/cm.txt: RetryTransaction: command not found
/var/hack/cm.txt: scan: command not found
/var/hack/cm.txt: dbobj: command not found
/var/hack/cm.txt: line 14: syntax error near unexpected token `}'
/var/hack/cm.txt: line 14: ` }'
bash-2.02#
bash-2.02#

Does anyone know why I might be getting this error?

Not sure why, but I can't get it to work on any of my manual recordings. I change the fsid, run it, but it still doesn't work.

I just recently helped the edittitle author with his script, which can remove the manual: tag among other things, to be compatible with version 3.X.

I am running 3.0 on a SA and I just tried running universaledittitle.tcl It let me list the recordings in Now Showing but when I try to (C)hange the title info it just throws me back to the Menu list. Did I do something wrong? I type "c" then <enter> then I type the FSID "789905" then <enter> and the script just pops me back the the Menu list...

Help!

WARNING:

I WOULD SUGGEST THAT NO ONE USE THIS UNLESS THEY ARE
AN "EXPERT" OR DON'T MIND REBUILDING THEIR TIVO FROM
SCRATCH. IF YOUR NOT IN THAT CATEGORY THEN WAIT UNTIL
PEOPLE POST RESULTS.

This procedure works for me on my 3.0 SA1.

I was able to cobble together three scripts that will
allow removal of all manual flags on all recordings:

edittitle.tcl - by default, it lists recordings
and FSIDs (credits in source)

clearmanual.sh - parses the FSIDS out (run this)

clearmanual.tcl - modified to accept cmdline args

Put the scripts in /var/hack and make sure
it's in your path.

This is a horrible, brute force approach. It would
be much better to combine the relevant parts of
the edittitle.tcl and clearmanual.tcl scripts into
one easy script. I don't have the skills nor time
to learn how and this works for me. YMMV

Remember to chmod the scripts.

BTW, edittitle.tcl kix ass for renaming shows:

search for it here and on google for "other' sources of information

icruz, did you ever get resolution on this? I want to permanently delete items via edittitle, but it does the same thing you noted above.

Thanks,
