Hi all,

This is my first post. I have been looking through this forum for about 2 days now, but I cant find the answer to my problem.

I have a stand alone tivo running 3.0 and have installed a turbonet card. Went ahead and set the dialing prefix to ,#401. It fails the test call.

I have looked at the dhcp clients table and there is no tivo, I have two other computers using this router one wirless and they both show up there.

Yesterday for about a minute or so I saw another ip address in the dhcp clients table which I assume was the tivo, but after another test call failed, I rebooted the tivo again but it doesn't show up again.

The turbonet card is getting a flashing green light, as well as a green light on the router.

I have tried reseating the turbonet card, no luck.
I have tried resetting the router, no luck
I have rebooted the tivo multiple times.

My only modification to my tivo is an 120gb hard drive.

Does anyone no how to make my linksys router see my tivo?

If I cant get this to work through DHCP, can I set the tivo up with a static IP?
If this is an option how do I do it?

Thanks in advance

I have done a little more troubleshooting, with unplugging the router and triple checking the seating on the turbonet card. When the tivo boots if I refresh my DHCP clients table I can see the tivo and its ip address(this is what i was talking about before), but then it goes away. Now I have verified that this is consistent.

Something is happening between the "almost there" screen and the main menu that removes the tivo from my dhcp clients table.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks

I guess no on else has had this problem.

After another day or two of troubleshooting I am finally up and running.

I set up a static ip on the tivo. Then I could ping, but I was getting a lot of packet loss. I made a new cat 5 cable and still was getting some packet loss. Turns out one of the ports on my brand new linksys router was in the process of going bad. Now that port doesn't work any more. Plugged the cable into a new port a no packet loss. :) I will be exchanging that tommorow for sure.

Now I am happy with telnet, ftp and tivoweb, for now.
