i was wondering when this show was gonna make it back on tv...one of the funniest things on tv...ever...imo. i was wondering one thing though...why are they starting at episode 24 instead of from the beginning? are the people at tvland gonna give it a place on their schedule...or just do the marathon.

I didn't see anything to indicate that this was anything other than a one-time special. It would have been nice if they had done all of the episodes in order.

Yes I don't think I am going to watch this marathon. It's ridiculous that they are not starting at the beginning. The 1st year was the best year by far. After that they started the stupid alien story, Dutch becomes domesticated, etc.
Hopefully the ratings will be good enough that they start showing the series regularly from the 1st episode and in order. It would be great if they were to release the series on DVD!
By the way, I don't think any comedy series "pushed the envelope" as much as they did, with regards to sex, lifestyles and basically just outrageous storylines. I guarantee you that if the networks tried to put on a show like that today, it would never make it on the air (just like All in the Family).
I was really surprised that the series was not more popular than it was. But by the last season, the writing had become stupid and I wasn't too sad that it was cancelled, except that they could have tied up the loose ends in a T.V. movie the next season.

I've had a SOAP wishlist since the first week I had the TiVo.

I actually video taped most of the episodes the last time it was regularly on in 1982. Boy those tapes are old. I think they cost me about $8 a tape and they were the lowest grade. How times have changed.
Can't wait to get a DVD burner real soon!

I noticed in the data guide yesterday that there will be additional episodes the next weekend, one on Friday and one on Saturday (I think), around 11pm, so maybe they will be playing Soap regularly a couple of days a week? Not sure if they're starting those from the beginning or not.

It's been a long time since TVLand bought the entire run of any series. Only if Viacom/Paramount owns the show can we expect all the episodes. Otherwise, it'll just be a select few.
