I have a series 1 Phillips unit running 3.001-1-000. I just installed an Airnet Card with a D-Link DWL-650. I have a linksys 1 port Cable/DSL Router and a seperate Linksys WAP 11. I upgraded the firmware on the DWL-650 to the latest versions as directed by http://www.silicondust.com/airnet/install_software.html
in step 4.
The DWL-650 works fine on a Laptop running XP Home. I have Mac adress filtering and WEP off for the WAP 11.
When I put all of this into my unhacked series 3 Tivo, and set the dialing prefix to ,#401 I cant connect.
When I look in the DHCP status for the router, i dont see an entry for the tivo and when I look in the log for the WAP 11, I dont see any entries for the DWL-650 requesting anything. When the DWL was in the laptop, i could see entries in the log. So I am thinking the Tivo isnt connecting.
What am i doing wrong. I have the cover off right now and the tivo is about 15 feet from the WAP 11. The light on the DWL-650 is coming on when the Tivo unit is on.
In the phone setup, my old phone number is still there, dial prefix is ,#401, Phone avail detection is set to off, dial tone detection is set to off.
My router is at 192.168.0.1 and my WAP 11 is at 192.168.0.251. Does this matter?
What else can I try? My modem is busted so i cant use it? Could that be screwing this up? Help me! Many thanks to all.

Hi,
You need to install the drivers into your tivo.
http://www.silicondust.com/airnet/install_software.html
With v3 you also have to set the dialing prefix which you have done corrently.

Ok thanks, I'll try that.
The original idea for me to install the airnet came from a tivo technical support employee who told me that with the v3 software, all i would have to do is pop the airnet in and set the dial prefix. He said the drivers were included. Why was I mislead? Since this seems not to be the case, what difference is there, in terms of the airnet, between the v3 software and the v 2.5?
At this point, I've already opened the tivo, so i dont mind giving the driver load a try.
Thanks again,
Jason

Hi,
V3 has built in drivers for Turbonet. Airnet came along a little later so you still have to load them manually.
